Steven’s Approach
If my approach could be summed up in one phrase, it would be—“Let’s go there.” I’m committed to courageously and compassionately guiding you while we explore the topics of your experience that feel confusing, scary, shameful, or even “taboo”.
I combine techniques from the Gottman Method, sex therapy, EMDR, Jungian therapy, Queer Theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you take steps to unapologetically create the life and relationships you want for yourself.
Fun Facts
I love training and learning from horses— especially my horse, Arisa—using a unique approach called Liberty training, which fosters trust and connection without the use of restraints.
I recently took up knitting & sewing—my yarn collection is growing as we speak!
I once ran into my emotional intelligence idol, Brene Brown, at the pickleball courts. It is a whole story…riddled with embarrassment.
I will never stop defending my love for naps
ABOUT Steven (he/his)
Are you and your partner spinning your wheels, stuck in the same argument over and over? Have you reached a standstill on important relationship issues—such as where to move, having children, or what your future looks like? Do you want to deepen your connection and intimacy but feel unsure about the next steps?
I’m passionate about exploring the complexities of the human experience. I’m here to dive deep with you—into the nuances, layers, and intricacies of your relationships, whether they’re romantic, familial, friendships, or even business partnerships.
As a queer therapist, I’m skilled at seeing multiple perspectives and unpacking what is considered “normal.” We will question outdated stories to discover the best path forward for your unique relationship needs, ensuring you’re on track for relationships filled with stability, trust, connection, and fulfillment.
Whether you want to address a long-standing argument, align your goals with your partner, or improve your sex life, I’ll approach each topic with curiosity, thoughtfulness, and humor, ensuring that even the most sensitive subjects are handled with care and respect.
FOR INDIVIDUALS SEEKING THERAPY
If you’re experiencing overwhelming emotions that lead to anxiety, depression, or even suicidal thoughts, I provide a judgment-free space to help you unpack your feelings and develop grounding strategies. I also offer individual therapy to complement your couples or relationship work, serving as an additional layer of support or sounding board.
WHO WILL GET THE BEST RESULTS WORKING WITH ME?
If you're open-minded, self-motivated, and willing to embrace some discomfort while owning your role in your relationship, we'll make a great team as we work toward your therapy or relationship goals. I warmly welcome any clients who are fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community or members of any race, ethnicity, or culture.
